TV Ministry in LA

Erica, Andrew and I have now been in LA for 10 days. As of the end of today we have shot 7 new programs for WAT, and I have preached twice for Pr Carter’s church in Arcadia.

As usual I suffered dreadful jet lag. How I wish I could travel without this common complaint. But it is a small price for the spectacular programs we are shooting here.

God has been very good to us. The weather has been perfect – up around 40 degrees every day - and the shoots have been trouble free – except I did loose my Bible on one of them – which was a bit of a disaster.

Here is a quick description of what we have done so far:

This Sabbath I will be preaching for the third time at Arcadia. It is a really good church with a TV ministry just like ours. They have about 200 members and they support a ministry that engulfs the world with the story of Jesus. There’s is a powerful story and a great example of what we can do too!

In the next week we will be doing some of the following:

A sermon on the flood and the end of time shot at the Grand Canyon.
A sermon on gambling shot at Las Vegas.
A sermon on Jesus desire to change hearts of stone shot at Petrified Forest.
A sermon on God’s power shot at Hoover Dam.
A sermon on the goodness of God shot at Lake Mead (end of the Colorado River)

In the 20 days I am away, God willing, we will shoot 17 programs for television. This is heavy, but I thank God that we are right on schedule. I am very grateful for the financial support of one of our local church families whose generosity has made this important work for Christ possible. It’s God’s moving on the hearts of our own church members that is allowing us to shake the world with His love. Thank you for your support and keep it up – we are finishing the work!

I get the real sense as I am over here that America is genuinely struggling. Everywhere we go there is evidence of failed businesses, there are more homeless on the streets than I have ever seen here, and there is a genuine fear in the air for the future. I am travelling and working in the most powerful country in the world that is in serious decline. She is gasping for breath and I am most convinced that we are living in end times. As Australians we are the most fortunate of people. Let’s continue to pull together, to give both our finances and lives to the cause, and to take our place in the forefront of this last great battle between Jesus and Satan. What a privilege – I love being a part of it!
